How do you create buzz and brand engagement around an integrated alcohol brand activation?

By activating celebrity influencers to act as team captains in the production of the summer, #MalibuGames, and allow their audience to experience the event as if they were there themselves.

The Malibu marketing campaign was so impactful that we were able to create a long-lasting connection between the two celebrity influencers and the brand.

The Influencers got along so well during the production that they actually became friends during the trip.

Resulting in an enormous amount of extra content shared with their followers, as well as strengthen the authenticity of the brand partnership.

To ensure maximum brand awareness and engagement for the Malibu brand and the Malibu Games, we invited influencers from all over the world to the Dominican Republic to participate in these fun-filled games. Upon arrival, the influencers were split up into teams to compete in the games. To create the ultimate experience, and encourage influencers to engage with the brand in an organic way, we showed off our trump card.

What is the best way to create team spirit and motivate influencers into giving their all and competing to win the Malibu Games? By getting the best team captains for each team!

IMA sourced two hero influencers who would become the ambassadors of the brand, as well as team captains at the Malibu Games. It was essential for the ambassadors to embody the essence of the Malibu brand: Fun Starters. They’re go-getters, with fun personalities that inspire and enable their audience to be their most fun self #BecauseSummer.

Essential for the success of the campaign was the match between influencer and brand. Each ambassador needed to have an affinity for the Malibu brand values.

Natti Natasha and Hannah Stocking became the official team captains of the Malibu Games, but also got involved beyond that. They participated in all the games, supported their teammates and posted a slew of content for their followers to enjoy the games with them.
